The CVR (T) Sabre was a British light tank used in the reconnaissance and infantry support roles. It was introduced in 1995 and was in service with the British Army until 2004. Based on the Scorpion chassis, the Sabre was armed with 30mm L21 RARDEN gun, which was mounted on a low-profile turret, that was also used on the Fox reconnaissance vehicle. Its armament also included a 7.62mm co-axial machine gun and grenade launchers. The 30mm cannon of the Sabre fired High Explosive and armor-piercing ammunition. The vehicle was powered by a Cummins BTA 5.9 diesel engine which could drive at the maximum speed of 80 km per hour.
