The North American F-100 Super Sabre carried out its first bombing raids in Vietnam in 1963, from Don Muang airbase in Thailand. From then on, this American combat aircraft would participate in every military operation of the war, such as Rolling Thunder and Linebacker. Although it had been conceived as a fighter, it was mostly used as a ground-attack aircraft to provide fire support to US and South Vietnamese troops. It was one of the most extensively used aircraft in Vietnam.
