FN F2000

El FN F2000 is a Belgian, compact, assault rifle, which uses a piston-driven gas-operated system, with rotating bolt. Manufactured by Fabrique Nationale of Herstal since 2001, it is in service with special forces units of Belgium, Croatia, Chile, and Peru. The FN F2000 is chambered for the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge and uses a 30-round STANAG magazine. It features an ambidextrous, 3-setting fire selector switch, with “S” for safe, “1” for single-shot, and “A” for fully automatic mode. With a 16″(40cm)-long barrel, this Belgian-made assault rifle has a Bullpup configuration, with the receiver, hammer assembly, and magazine located behind the trigger mechanism; the charging handle is situated on the left hand side of rifle. Its barrel is cold hammer-forged and fitted with a flash hider and muzzle break. It also features a 1.6x optical sight. Having a very light recoil, this compact and ergonomic assault rifle is an accurate and dependable weapon, whose moving parts never jamm. Variants: F2000 TR, FS2000. Effective range: 500 m; muzzle velocity: 900 m/s.
