The FV103 Spartan was an armored transport vehicle designed and developed by Alvis Plc for the British Army Infantry, entering service in 1978. It was a tracked vehicle, powered by a Bedford 600 6-cylinder diesel engine that delivered 200 horsepower. The FV103 had an operational range of 500 km (315miles) and could reach the maximum speed of 60 mph (95 km/h). The Spartan could carry up to 5 well-equipped infantry soldiers, plus the crew members, and was armed with a 7.62mm machine gun, MILAN anti-tank missiles, and grenade launchers.
