Hitler’s Weapons

The weapons used by Germany at the beginning of World War II were wonderful and efficiently lethal pieces of German engineering, designed for a new type of war; the Blitzkrieg. These were conventional weapons that included aircraft, armored vehicles, and artillery pieces. However, there were also impressive secret weapons in Hitler’s arsenal that were developed by German scientists with German technology as a last resort to win the war. The jet engines were designed, built and used to power new kind of aircraft as the first surface-to-surface ballistic missiles were developed and used against England. After the fall of the Third Reich, most of the German armament captured by the Allies would be perfected, mass-produced, and deployed by both the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
