Operation Killer was a military operation of the Korean War, carried out by UN troops, under the command of American General Mathew Ridgway, from February 20 to March 15, 1951. Successfully conducted, it was a US Eighth Army full-scale counterattack against the Chinese Army to recover the territory lost to the communists during the First Phase Offensive that had been launched by the Chinese on October 25, 1950. During Operation Killer the UN forces liberated Seoul on March 14 and pushed northward, toward the 38th parallel.
