Developed and manufactured by Norinco, the QSZ-92 is a semi-automatic, double-action/single-action pistol in service with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army since 1996 and the Bangladesh Armed Forces since 1999. It has a short-recoil system, with locked breech, as it is fitted with a 11.1-cm-long ¬†steel barrel, which rotates on recoil to lock and unlock the gun slide. It also features ambidextrous safety lever and magazine release button. This chinese pistol has been produced in two variants: the QSZ-92-9 and the QSZ-92-5.8, with the former being chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge and the latter for the 5.8x21mm armor-piercing ammunition. The 9mm version’s receiver is fed from a double-stack 15-round magazine, while the 5.8mm model uses a 20-round magazine. The 5.8mm armor-piercing cartridge has a bottle-necked casing and a spire-shaped, spitzer bullet.
