The Stingray is an American light tank developed by Cadillac Gage and manufactured by Textron Marine and Land Systems. Thailand purchased 100 Stingray light tanks, which are in service with the Thai Army since 1989. With a weight of 22.4 tons, it is airborne as it can be transported in a C130 Hercules aircraft. The Stingray is armed with a 105mm L7A rifled gun, with low recoil, a co-axial 7.62mm machine gun, and a 12.7mm (.50) Browning machine gun, mounted on the tank turret. The tank is also equipped with a laser rangefinder and an integrated, digital fire control system. It is lightly protected by 23mm-thick steel armor. This light tank is powered by a Detroit Diesel Allison 8V-92TA, which delivers 540 hp. It has a maximum speed of 42 mph (70km/h) and an operational range of 300 miles (480 km).
