UH-1Y Venom

The UH-1Y Venom is a utility helicopter, which is used in the ground-attack role to provide fire support. It is the latest variant of the UH-1 Huey, entering service with the US Army in 2001. The UH-1Y is the result of the UH-1N version’s upgrade program, through which a new four-bladed rotor system, a tail boom, avionics, and more powerful engines have been incorporated. Its power plant consists of two General Electric T700-GE-401C turboshaft engines, which generate 1,828 shp. Maximum speed: 189 mph.
